System requirements: IHETS Interactive can run on almost any Windows or Macintosh computer purchased within the last few years. For detailed information on what type of equipment offers the best possible exoerience, see the hardware and software recommendations page.
Bandwidth requirements: Bandwidth consumption varies from as little as 20-50 Kbps up to 300-500 Kbps, depending the meeting room configuration and the specific tools in use at any given point in time. Video and application sharing are the most bandwidth-intensive activities. A cable or DSL broadband Internet connection is recommended for home users. Locations supporting two or more concurrent users should allow 300-500 Kbps per user.
Capacity: The capacity of the IHETS Interactive is measured
in concurrent users. By June 2006, we expect to have licenses for as many as
600 concurrent users. The number of licenses will be increased as demand for
the service grows.
Home access: Students can use the service from
home or work with a cable or DSL broadband Internet connection and
a Windows or Macintosh computer meeting minimum system requirements.
